AV CLUB Amsterdam
2011-2017
...was a bi-monthly video and music concert series focused on experimental works and building an open, informal setting for collaborating and sharing music, video, film and performance works alongside touring bands and musicians. The aim was to establish an event which would bring together a range of makers and performers - local and international, established and emerging - to a wide audience and in one of Amsterdam’s longest-running alternative spaces (the former squat and venue OCCII)
The format of each event included alternating music performances with film and video screenings, giving music and film equal billing. Some events would also close out with a DJ and VJ set. Towards the end of the series, guest curators were invited to co-curate events.
AV Club Amsterdam also extended out into the city, doing collaborations with West Wednesdays and Volle Band mobile-cycle cinema, OT301, and Red Light Radio.
